In 2002 I was an exchange student at Konstfack in Stockholm. Here I took courses in queer theory and set out to make a photographic series with people that defined themselves outside of the hetero norms. I imagined photographing queer people and set up an ad in the online gay community Gaysir. To my surprise the people that engaged in the project were surprisingly straight looking. It lead me to learning the lesson that the queer community also has its norms and expectations, and I was happy to fail them.

The series has since been donated to the Norwegian national archive for queer and LGBT history; Skeivt Arkiv.
